The men’s teams have byes in both the Dunham Forest Trophy and Men’s Foursomes events. In the Archie Preston Mixed Team Foursomes we host Tytherington, who are the holders, and the Juniors are away at High Legh Park for the BMW Junior Challenge Tournament.

A new slant on spraying it all over the place

In this instance, we are talking deer antler spray! Apart from possible effects on the libido [if needed] this strange substance appears to have got Vijay Singh into a whole lot of trouble.. Evidently Mr Singh sprays this stuff under his tongue “at least every 2 hours” ....sounds like he’s addicted to it. Available in reputable pro shops for $5,000 a time?!

HS2 designers use dog leg

In case you were wondering exactly where the proposed HS2 rail route goes, here is the official map covering our area.
You’d have thought that with a teminal at the airport, and going via Crewe, it would pass rather close to us. But evidently not. And the last 7.5 miles into Manchester are to be in a tunnel. A challenging civil engineering project, to say the least…..if it ever goes ahead of course!

Spotlight on the Roll Up

Started around eleven years ago, the Wednesday Gents’ “Roll Up” continues to be enthusistically supported by a considerable percentage of the male membership. Come rain or shine a band of hardy members turns up each Wednesday lunchtime for the obligatory draw for partners on the first tee.
